poor blog :(

There have been SO many days recently when I think to myself "time for a new post!" or "that would be a great blog post!" and yet... obviously, I haven't actually followed through in quite some time. I've been having next to no free time lately, which has actually been a good thing because I've been too busy doing so much fun stuff!

Last Thursday I went and saw Chris Carrabba (of Dashboard Confessional) do an acoustic show at the House of Blues in Anaheim. I've loved Dashboard since high school and always jump at the chance to see Chris any time he comes to California (which is usually once a year right around my birthday). This year there were no local shows on his tour and I was devastated. Luckily, he added the Anaheim show so I still got to see him this year. It was, as always, a GREAT show.
There is something so nostalgic and romantic to me about hearing Chris play live. It really is incredible.
Since the show was at the Anaheim location which is in the Downtown Disney District a fan threw Mickey ears onto the stage. He put them on just long enough for me to get this photo before he took it off so that it didn't "mess up his hair" haha.
The next day he posted on his facebook this photo with the caption "They used to throw bras!" Haha. Followed by the status: "Last night was one of my favorite shows ever". It was such a great night.
Sam actually had more fun than I thought he would (as you can tell from this photo). Sam, like me, also loved Dashboard in high school and loves all of his old stuff and just hasn't really stayed up to date with any of his new music. Luckily Chris played LOTS of old stuff and there were times when I looked over and Sam was singing away. I'm glad he was able to enjoy it as much as I did.

Friday night we made a last minute plan to go to the Orange County Fair. Sam was a sweetheart and showed up with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers for me "just because". How sweet is he?
The first thing we did (the first thing we always do) was go over and look at the animals. There was a giant crowd around one of the pins so we head over there. Once I saw what all the fuss was about I LITERALLY almost cried. In the pin was a momma pig and her ONE DAY OLD piglets.
This photo doesn't NEARLY convey the cuteness/tininess of the little guys. I saw them and literally almost squealed and looked at Sam with that "I want one!" look on my face. Of course, he just laughed at me. After just staring at them for quite awhile finally I told Sam "we need to just walk away because I could stand here forever". Once we walked away I had to compose myself. I'm telling you, it was, hands down, one of the cutest things I have ever seen. (We even went back over for one last look before heading back to the car at the end of the night).

Saturday my little cousin, AKA my favorite person in the world turned five. FIVE... I can't even believe it. I remember his BABY SHOWER. There is no way he's five. He has become a sports FANATIC. He goes back and fourth between having the Angles as his favorite team (like me) or the Dodgers (like his dad). Pujols is one of his favorite players and he got a jersey for his birthday and of course had to play a little ball in it.
It was nice getting to spend the day with family.

Sunday morning I was having a craving. If you live in the Long Beach area you know about Dale's Diner. They have great food and an old school diner feel. I decided to treat myself and get the Oreo pancakes. Yes... oreo. SO good. I definitely recommend them.
It was such a great weekend filled with just the right amount of fun and relaxation. But, the fun isn't over yet! Tonight I'm going with my friends Kristy and Danica to go see Kelly Clarkson and The Fray at the Hollywood Bowl! I am SO excited! First, because I love both Kelly Clarkson and The Fray, but ALSO because I'm going with two great girls! It's going to be a fun night AND it will be the first concert for Kristy's tiny plus one! :)

xoxo,
shea
