DIY Cereal Box Do Not Disturb Sign

I'm baaaaaaaack! I've taken a little unscheduled break from the blog and social media in general lately but, rest assured, I'm not going anywhere! I'm excited to be back today to bring another installment of the "Create with Cricut Challenge" put on by Amber of Amber Simmons and Katie of Clarks Condensed. If you didn't get a chance to see my project last month using felt, what are you waiting for? Go check it out

If you're unfamiliar with the challenge, each month they will be choosing a mystery material for us to create with using our Cricut and this month, the material is a cereal box! I'll be honest, I don't think I've ever made anything out of a cereal box before so this was a fun challenge. I went back and forth with ideas and even ran into some trial and error with some of my ideas but I'm super happy with the finished product! I created this adorable "Please Do Not Disturb Crafting in Progress" door hanger.

SUPPLIES
(contains affiliate links)
Cereal Box
Spray Paint (I used Ocean Mist from Rust-oleum)
Sticker Paper (This one is my favorite)
Cricut Maker (or any of the explore machines)
Printer ( I use this one)

I started by designing the file (which I've included at the end of this post if you'd like to create your own!). I'm a creature of habit so almost everything I make involves some form of mint and peach, this project was of course no exception.

Design Space will prompt you to print the sticker paper first. Be sure to load your sticker paper according to your printers settings.

After it's printed, put your sticker paper on your mat and cut it on the "sticker paper" cut setting. Your machine will read the registration marks and cut the sticker beautifully.Create your own Do Not Disturb Sign with Cricut and a Cereal Box!
To cut the cereal box, I trimmed it down to only use the front of the box. To my surprise, Design Space has a "cereal box" setting!
Because of it's thickness, I was afraid it wouldn't stay on my mat, but it did!

To be safe, I ran the cut twice (which you can do for any project by simply hitting the "go" button again after the first cut).

Using some spray paint, I painted the sign.

Then, let the paint dry and once it is dry, add your sticker and you're done!

Now no one will try to bother you while you're crafting!
